Two State CU Associations to Partner On First-Ever Joint Virtual Conference

OVERLAND PARK, Kan./NAPERVILLE, Ill.–The Illinois CU League and the Heartland Credit Union Association, which represents CUs in Missouri and Kansas, have joined on a virtual convention to be held later this year.

Called Boost, the event is scheduled for Sept. 22-24 and will include “inspiring speakers, deep dive sessions, virtual exhibit hall and demos,” as well as league-specific sessions exclusively for each league’s credit unions, the organizations said.

There will also be a virtual Crasher program for young professionals from ICUL or HCUA member credit unions.

“Working together only makes us stronger,” said Brad Douglas, president/CEO of the Heartland Credit Union Association. “We are able to pull from the expertise of both leagues to bring this event to our credit unions in Illinois, Kansas and Missouri.”

Event Emphasizes Cooperation

Added Tom Kane, president/CEO of the Illinois CU League, “I am thrilled that ICUL can partner with the Heartland Association on this first-ever jointly hosted virtual event by two leagues. We are looking forward to putting together a power-packed collaborative event for our credit unions. What I love most is how this event emphasizes the cooperative nature of the credit union movement by bringing together a network of credit unions across different states to learn and exchange ideas with each other.”

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, both associations have cancelled their in-person events this year.
