SAN FRANCISCO–Two San Francisco credit unions have merged. San Francisco FCU is absorbing via merger San Francisco Bay Area Educators Credit Union.
The 2,000 members of SFBAECU will join with nearly 47,000 San Francisco Fed members, and the Educators’ branch at 851 Van Ness Avenue will become the seventh SFFed branch.
San Francisco Bay Area Educators Credit Union was originally chartered in 1955.
“San Francisco Federal Credit Union shares the same values, as we have demonstrated throughout our 65 years of service,” says Jonathan Oliver, president and CEO of San Francisco Federal Credit Union. “Merging will allow us to offer more products, services, convenient branch locations and access than ever before.”
SFFed was founded 1954 and has assets of approximately $1.1 billion.
