RICHMOND, Va.–Two credit unions in this market have changed their names.
Dominion Credit Union, which was founded in 1940 to serve Dominion Resources, has changed its name to Dominion Energy Credit Union. The new name reflects a similar name change by its corporate sponsor.
With the name change has also come a refreshing of its brand and its website.
“One thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to our members and superior customer service,” the credit union said. “Since 1940, we’ve stayed true to our mission of improving your financial well-being by offering products and services that benefit you while making banking easy and affordable while going the extra mile for our members.”
Meanwhile, Richmond Postal Credit Union has changed its name to the Credit Union of Richmond. Founded in 1923 to serve postal workers, in 2008 it expanded its field of membership to those who live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in the city of Richmond and their family members. It said it made the name change to reflect the expanded FOM.
