Two Pennsylvania Credit Unions Merge

PLAINS, Penn.–Two Pennsylvania credit unions have merged. Members of the $4.5-million Metro Wire FCU have voted in favor of merging into the $42-million CityMark FCU in Wilkes-Barre, Penn.

The combined credit union will serve approximately 2,500 members.

The two employees of Metro Wire FCU are retiring with the merger, while Kim Graham, chairman of the board of Metro Wire FCU, will join CityMark’s board as a new director and Margaret Totten will join CityMark’s supervisory committee.

“We are thrilled to welcome the members of Metro into our family,” said CityMark CEO Joseph Gimble in a statement. "They will benefit greatly from this merger. Metro currently offered only savings accounts and loans. With the merger Metro members will have access to all of the services of a traditional institution."
