FARGO, N.D.–Two credit unions in this state said there are mulling a merger.
The $380-million Town & Country Credit Union which was founded in 1939 and now serves more than 18,000 members, said it has entered into discussions with $318-million Capital Credit Union about a combination.
Such a merger “would provide additional convenience to members with 20 branch locations paired with the technology that each credit union has to offer," according to a news release.
Together the credit unions serve approximately 43,000 members.
The credit unions said no jobs would be eliminated if the merger is approved. Regulatory approval and a vote by members are still required.
