SIERRA VISTA, Ariz.– Two credit unions have named new CEOs.
In Arizona, American Southwest Credit Union has named a new president and CEO. The $280-million credit union has selected Jay Williamson to lead the organization.
Williamson was most recently CEO of Progressions Credit Union in Spokane, Wash., a position he had held since 2018. Williamson is a native of Oklahoma.
“I am honored and excited to lead American Southwest Credit Union into its next phase of growth and innovation,” said Williamson in a statement. “We have an organization of truly talented and amazing people and I am very grateful for the commitment and hard work of all. Their passion for creating a culture of members service and support is inspiring. The opportunities that lie ahead for us are considerable and I am excited to navigate this next chapter for American Southwest Credit Union.”
The credit union has approximately 28,300 members.
New CEO in North Dakota
Meanwhile, in Edgeley, N.D., the $84-million Dakota Plains Credit Union has named Jeanne Witt as its new president and CEO.
Witt joined the credit union in 2016 as a ag/commercial loan officer for Dakota Plains Credit Union and in January of 2019 was promoted to ag/commercial loan manager and started working in the Edgeley office, and has now been named to succeed Mike Reisnour as CEO.
“The thing I find most refreshing about working in a credit union is the sharing of ideas amongst our peers,” Witt told the Dakota Credit Union Association. “I also appreciate that we are willing to assist members that banks will often pass over as not meeting their criteria, and I am very excited to take on the new challenges of being CEO,” she added.
