WINDCREST, Texas–Credit unions remain under siege. For the second time in a week in the San Antonio area, an ATM here was knocked off its base and stolen.
According to police, the most recent case involved an ATM at a shopping center belonging to Randolph Brooks FCU. Police said thieves used a forklift to steal the ATM, and at the time they responded they found the stolen forklift nearby with its engine still running. It is believed the ATM was loaded into a pick-up truck and driven off. But police said it appears the machine fell out of the thieves' truck and was too heavy to be lifted again.
