CIRCLE, Mont.–Two Montana credit unions have announced merger plans. The $9-million Fallon County FCU in Baker said its members have voted in favor of merging into the $71-million McCone
County FCU.
The CUs said members of Fallon County FCU will not begin to see immediate changes until early 2019.
“The board of directors and the current staff of MCFCU are excited to move forward with merging FCFCU in to our membership,” said MCFCU President/CEO Emily Guldborg. “We welcome the opportunity to expand the credit union mission throughout eastern Montana. We can’t wait to share all of the great financial offerings and modern financial technology that we have with the residents of Fallon County.”
To celebrate the merger, MCFCU is donating $5,000 to initiatives that benefit youth in Circle and Baker, with $2,500 going to the Circle Cinema’s efforts to bring movies back to the town on the big screen, and $2,500 to the Baker Community Center, which offers youth activities to the young residents of the town.
The credit unions said there will be no jobs lost as the result of the merger.
