Two Minnesota Credit Unions Announce Plans to Merge

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–Ninety-six percent of members at Ecolab Credit Union have voted in favor of merging into SPIRE Credit Union.

Founded in 1963, Ecolab Credit Union has more than 2,200 members and $11 million in assets. 

“To maintain and grow the long-term value for the Ecolab Credit Union membership, the leadership recognized the need to enter into a partnership with SPIRE,” said president/CEO, Sandra Wiederholt, “This partnership is a win for everybody.”

The $844-million SPIRE has more than 87,000 members.

“The members are very excited to have more products available to them, as well as greatly expanded services and branch options,” said Dan Stoltz, SPIRE president/CEO, “This partnership will bring countless opportunities to the ECU members.”
