WARWICK, R.I.—Two men have been arrested here and charged with skimming plastic cards at an ATM that led to more than $65,000 in losses for members.
Police said that someone attached a skimming device at an ATM belonging to Greenwood Credit Union that recorded mag stripe data from members that, in turn, was used to make copied ATM cards.
Arrested were 30-year-old Moises Morales Cano of New York City, who was arrested at a hotel in Rhode Island, and 52-year-old Carlos Cineros of New York City.
Police have alleged that the duo may have run similar skimming scams along the East Coast.
