Two Iowa Credit Unions Announce Merger Plans

DUBUQUE, Iowa—Alliant CU here and local General Drivers Credit Union have announced plans to merge. General Drivers members voted and approved the deal, which becomes effective Nov. 1.

With the acquisition, Alliant moves to $113 million in assets and will serve more than 11,000 members.

The $6.5-million General Drivers office will close after the merger is completed, with staff relocating to other Alliant Credit Union branches, Alliant stated in a release.
