Two Illinois Credit Unions Announce Merger Plans

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.–Two Illinois CUs are merging. Members of Carle Employees FCU have voted to merge with the University of Illinois Community Credit Union.

The merger is to be effective May 1. 

The $16-million Carle CU was founded in 1965 and has approximately 2,700 members. The $328-million UICCU has approximately 45,000 members. UICCU said it has offered Carle CU employees positions following the merger.

“It is our pleasure to welcome the members of Carle Credit Union,” said UICCU CEO E.J. Donaghey. “We look forward to our new partnership and the opportunity to provide the same high service standards that both credit unions have always placed tremendous value on.”
