Two Georgia Credit Unions In Peach Of A Merger

ROME, Ga.–Two Georgia CUs said they intend to merge.

The $305-million Coosa Valley Credit Union said it will absorb the $19-million North Georgia Community FCU, effective Oct. 1. The combined CU will have 42,000 members and be led by Coosa Valley FCU CEO Andy F. Harris.

"Our board of directors and executive team are continually looking for new ways to enhance member benefits, better serve the community, and ensure we continue to thrive well into the future,” said Harris. “Joining forces with North Georgia Community Federal Credit Union will immediately expand our geographic presence and allow both credit unions to realize the significant efficiencies of a larger organization.”
