WASHINGTON–CUNA has announced two former White House chiefs of staff will speak to its upcoming Governmental Affairs Conference.
Addressing GAC will be Reince Priebus and Thomas “Mack” McLarty.
Priebus, the first chief of staff to President Donald Trump, currently serves as a regular political commentator for major news channels and is an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Before his time in the White House, he served three terms as Republican National Committee chairman. In 2016, Priebus was named as one of Time’s “100 Most Influential People.”
McLarty, former chief of staff to President Bill Clinton, is the chairman of the McLarty Companies, a fourth-generation family transportation business. He also co-founded McLarty Associates, an international consulting firm, in 1998. During his time in the White House, McLarty helped enact the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Family and Medical Leave law.
“CUNA GAC is the biggest credit union advocacy event of the year. As a bipartisan organization, we believe it’s important to hear from influential voices across the political spectrum,” said Todd Spiczenski, CUNA chief products and services officer. “Reince and Mack bring unique perspectives that complement each other well. I’m confident that credit unions interested in maximizing their advocacy will benefit from the lively and informative discussion.”
The keynote speech will take place March 2.
