Two DC-Led Webinars Today: Fed Town Hall on FedNOW, FinCEN Session on BOI

WASHINGTON—The Federal Reserve will host a virtual town hall today on the FedNow Service.

The Fed’s real-time payments system launched in July; more than 200 financial institutions – including several credit unions – are among its participants.

According to the Fed, the town hall will feature panel discussions with those using the FedNow Service on how they’re reimagining traditional use cases with instant payments. Fed leaders will also provide an update on what’s next for the service and upcoming engagement opportunities.

Register for the town hall, which begins at 2 p.m. ET.

The Fed reminded it has several resources available for financial institutions and service providers on the FedNow Service.

FinCEN Webinar on BOI Reporting

Meanwhile, FinCEN will host a virtual information session on beneficial ownership information reporting requirements today at 2 p.m. E.T.

“Beginning Jan. 1, 2024, a new law will require many companies doing business in the United States to report information to the U.S. government about who ultimately owns and controls them,” FinCEN stated. “This webinar will cover beneficial ownership information reporting requirements and how to comply with the law, followed by a Q&A session.”
