MONROE, Mich.–Two credit unions have named new CEOs.
At Monroe County Community Credit Union here, MCCCU said it has selected Stephen P. Grech to lead the organization, succeeding Mike Newman who had been the president and CEO since 2001 until his death in March of this year.
Prior to joining the $196-million MCCCU, Grech served as executive vice president for Credit Union One for 10 years and was chief lending officer for five years before that. Overall, he has 36 years in the financial services industry.
“MCCCU is a shining example of what being a community-focused financial institution is all about,” he said in a statement. “Beyond offering a wide array of financial products and services, MCCCU is passionate about being a corporate citizen and investing its resources into the community it serves.”
Grech was chief lending officer at Dearborn Federal Savings Bank where he served for 15 years.
“I am excited to become part of the communities served by MCCCU,” Grech said in a statement. “I am honored to have been asked to lead the organization into the future, and build on the successes and efforts of the many hard-working people who have served the credit union and its members over the years.”
MCCCU has 28,000 members.
Separately, in Trumbull, Conn., America’s First Network Credit Union has named its new CEO. The $27-million AFNCU said Nick Moalli is now leading the organization, replacing John Keet, who retired. Keet had been CEO for 18 years.
Maolli was most recently with the Credit Union League of Connecticut.
