FULDA, Minn.–Two credit unions have announced name changes.
In Minnesota, the $147-million Fulda Area Credit Union is now Leading Edge Credit Union.
“By selecting a new name, Leading Edge Credit Union has made an investment in both their future and the future of their members,” the credit union said in a statement. “As LECU, they are now able to provide a foundation of growth for many years to come as the credit union continues to grow, expand, and become more diverse.”
The 11,000-member CU said the new name now reflects its primary mission of providing exceptional financial products and services to benefit all community members and their future success.
“We are excited to announce the next stage of our evolution with the introduction of our new name and logo,” said President & CEO Chad Merrihew. “Since 1986, we have guided our members, helping them with their dreams, their banking and their money. We could not accomplish that without embracing change to evolve in order to better serve our members and our communities.”
The CU’s FOM includes 12 counties in Southwest Minnesota.
New Name Under the Sun
Meanwhile, in Arizona, Arizona Federal Credit Union has made a slight change to its name. It is now Arizona Financial CU, reflecting a move to a state charter.
“Changing our charter allows us to serve individuals and businesses across Arizona, and we think the word ‘financial’ in our name is much more descriptive of what we do,” said Ronald L. Westad, president and CEO. “The charter change will also result in greater value for our members, by giving us the ability to continue investments in new products and services such as enhanced online services and new locations.”
AFCU has 145,000 members.
