REDDING, Calif.–The $117-million Members 1st Credit Union is absorbing STAR Community Credit Union of Chico, Calif. via a merger. NCUA and the state regulator, the California Department of Business Oversight, have signed off on the merger, which is set to be completed by Jan. 4.
Mark Moore, CEO of Members 1st CU, will be CEO of the combined credit union. STAR Community CU CEO Joe Kelly will retire after 17 years.
STAR was chartered in 1958 for teachers and administrators of Chico State University, and has grown to include students teachers, alumni and retirees of all Butte County schools, Chico Police Department, and Enloe Medical Center.
