WAYNESBORO, Va. — One very small credit union has been absorbed by one very large credit union.
The $1.7-million Walker-Virginia FCU, Harrisonburg, Va., has now been merged into the $980-million DuPont Community CU here. WVFCU members gave the merger their OK in March. Walker-Virginia FCU had one location inside a Walker-Tenneco plant in Harrisonburg, which it has had to move due to safety and soundness concerns. Walker-Virginia FCU has 439 members.
