WASHINGTON--President Donald Trump has named Stephen Miran, chair of the Council of Economic Advisors, to fill a key seat on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, following the resignation of Adriana Kugler last week, CNBC reported.
Miran will complete the remainder of Kugler’s term, which ends on Jan. 31, 2026.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump indicated Miran may serve in a temporary capacity, stating, “In the meantime, we will continue to search for a permanent replacement”—suggesting a separate nominee may be tapped for the full 14-year term.
