Truliant FCU Plans Major Push Into Charlotte

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Truliant FCU is planning a significant move into the Charlotte, N.C. market, where it is seeking to open 10 branch offices by the end of 2015.

The expansion will also include the hiring of as many as 120 new employees, according to Truliant, which said the total investment will be approximately $11 million.

In a press conference held at the Mint Museum Uptown, Truliant CEO Marc Schaeffer said the 2,200-square-foot branches will look more like a Starbucks than the typical bank or CU branch. There will be no teller lines, and instead will deploy meeting areas where member service reps will have tablet computers to service members. “Smart” ATMs will also be available at each location.
