HOBOKEN, N.J.–A new survey shows Americans haven’t been frightened away from spending even more on Halloween this year than last.
The average American reports they will treat themselves to $185.50 on Halloween-related costs in 2018, up from $169.81 in 2017, according to a survey conducted by LendEDU.
When those same 1,000 Americans were asked on what they will be spending nearly $200 this year, they responded:
- 41%, or $76.05, toward candy
- 36%, or $66.78 toward costumes
- 23%, or $42.67, on decorations
