WASHINGTON – The first meeting has been held by the transition board of directors for America’s Credit Unions, the new trade group formed by the merger of CUNA and NAFCU that became official on Jan. 1.
According to the organization, the board, led by Chair Brian Schools and Vice Chair Lisa Ginter, held a meet-and-greet with the association’s new executive leadership team, while also appointing committee assignments, approving a supplemental budget to support transformation efforts, and approving the America’s Credit Unions bylaws.
In addition, during the meeting Dayatra “Day” Matthews of Local Government FCU in North Carolina was unanimously appointed by the board following the resignation of transition board and legacy-CUNA board member Brian Best, CEO of GTE Financial Credit Union in Florida, the organization reported.
Earlier, CUToday.info had additional reporting around the new group and the history of CUNA and NAFCU here. The new executive management team, drawn from representatives of both organizations, was announced earlier, as well, as reported here.
