ARLINGTON, Va.—As CUToday.info reported on the day following the elections, both credit union trade groups are hopeful at least some CU-favored legislation can pass during the lame duck session of Congress.
NAFCU has sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (who are likely to swap titles in the new Congress) calling on them to act on bipartisan regulatory relief measures, including the Privacy Notice Modernization Act of 2013, legislation that would provide relief from Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTAs), and the Mortgage Choice Act of 2013.
NAFCU noted all that legislation has bipartisan support.
