TORRANCE, Calif.–Steve Stoppel, who has served as CEO of Torrance Community Credit Union for the past 21 years, has announced plans to retire.
During his tenure, Stoppel has overseen growth to $171 million in assets from $58 million and has implemented technology that has improved both member and employee experiences, according to the credit union.
We here at Torrance Community Credit Union are saddened to see Steve Stoppel leave, but we’d like to wish Steve the best in his future endeavors and happy retirement, from the bottom of our hearts,” the board said in a statement.
The credit union said a search is underway for a successor.
Torrance Community CU has approximately 7,600 members.
