SAN FRANCISCO–Visa plans to test a “payment wearable ring” during the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August.
The ring includes what the company said is a secure microchip with an embedded NFC-enabled antenna.
It will reportedly be tested by 45 athletes attending the games who will be able to use the rings to make payments. Visa did not announce whether it plans any additional rollout of the technology.
