HARRISBURG, Penn.–To celebrate Public Service Recognition Week, which begins May 5, Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union said it will be offering free coffee at a number of restaurants and coffee shops in Bethlehem, Harrisburg, and State College, Pennsylvania.
Public service employees and the general public are being invited to partake.
“What better way to start off the day than with a cup of coffee? That’s why to celebrate Public Service Recognition Week, coffee is on PSECU the morning of May 7,” said PSECU President George Rudolph in a statement. “We invite everyone to join us – whether you work in public service or not – for a free cup of coffee at our partners’ locations in Bethlehem, Harrisburg, and State College. Together, we’ll celebrate and thank all those who serve in federal, state, county, and local government who ensure our collective well-being and help make our communities stronger, safer, and more vibrant for everyone to enjoy.”
On Tuesday, May 7, free coffee will be available at Sagra Beans Coffeehouse & Roastery Bethlehem from 7-9 a.m.; at Little Amps’s Strawberry Square Kiosk and Downtown (State Street) Harrisburg location from 6:45-9 a.m., and at Ducks Donuts State College from 7-9 a.m.
Strong Results in 2018
PSECU reported that during a similar Public Service Recognition Week event held in 2018 at Little Amps’s Strawberry Square Kiosk and Downtown Harrisburg location and Duck Donuts State College, PSECU provided 328 people with complimentary drinks during the promotional period. This year’s promotion will feature a fourth location in Bethlehem, further extending free coffee offer to include the Lehigh Valley.
“Most people know that PSECU was founded by state employees because it is in our name – Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union. What they may not realize is that since then, we’ve extended our field of membership to include many other groups,” said Rudolph. “Today, the majority of statewide government units and public service employees can join PSECU and take advantage of the Money Back Banking benefits we offer. Around 1,500 Pennsylvania organizations and businesses offer PSECU membership as an employee benefit, too, and students, alumni, faculty, and staff of all schools in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education, as well as many community colleges and private educational institutions, are all also able to take advantage of joining and benefitting from membership in PSECU.”
The $5-billion PSECU has more than 450,000 members.
