TAMPA, Fla.–To mark the opening of its 75th branch, this one in the Fruitville Service Center in Sarasota, Suncoast Credit Union said it will donate $75,000 to local non-profits across its service area through its “$75k in 75 days Charitable Giving Celebration.”
The donations will begin Oct. 1, and continue through the end of the year.
The $14.2-billion Suncoast said each of its 75 branches will select a local charity within their community to receive $1,000. The credit union said supporting local communities is one of its cornerstones and allows local autonomy to fund the highest and best needs.
“What better way to celebrate our 75th service center than by giving back directly to the communities that support us through their membership and have allowed us to become Florida’s largest credit union,” said Kevin Johnson, president and CEO, Suncoast Credit Union. Especially during these difficult times, as we experience a collective pandemic, we strongly believe these donations will go a very long way in helping support valuable charitable work across the state. We are grateful to be in a position where we can share with others, thanks to the support of our more than 974,000 members, allowing us to celebrate the addition of our new Fruitville branch, across all 40 counties that we serve, in a meaningful way.”
Account Incentives
In addition, to celebrate the branch opening, Suncoast reported it is offering new account incentives throughout the month of September, including a tiered format of a $25, $50, or $75 deposit, dependent on the number of new accounts opened.
New members will be entered into a raffle to win a $500 gift card, Suncoast said
Suncoast said the new Suncoast branch offers a spacious and modern floor plan, bilingual team members, a coin machine, and two Interactive Teller Machines.
