'Tis Almost the Season--For Fraud

DES MOINES, Iowa—The holidays are just around the corner, and so is a busy time of year for cyber-crooks.

The Members Group suggests that to prepare for both, credit unions:

  • Update cardholder contact info.
  • Establish a stop-date for lifted restrictions.
  • Know your fraud trends.
  • Use laser-targeted detection tools.
  • Employ geo-targeted detection software.
  • Educate cardholders.

That’s just a small piece of the valuable advice provided in a four-part white paper series on fraud TMG has released. Topics include biometrics, holiday fraud, card-not-present fraud and methods for empowering consumers to help fight card fraud.
