LUBBOCK, Texas—John Tippets has been named president and CEO of the $227-million Alliance FCU here.
Tippets is well known in credit unions as the long-time leader of American Airlines Federal Credit Union, and more recently for leading North Island FCU in San Diego after being brought in by NCUA to lead that CU’s turnaround.
“Alliance is a very good credit union,” said Tippets. “I am especially looking forward to working with the team here at Alliance as the credit union celebrates its 75th anniversary next year.”
Tippets said he will remain on the speaking circuit next year and will continue to share the story behind “Hearts of Courage,” the book Tippets wrote about his father and the survivors of the Gilliam plane crash in Alaska.
