FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–Members of tiny Murphy Credit Union have agreed to merge into SPIRE Credit Union.
Murphy had 185 members and $570,000 in assets, and cited an increasingly complex future of regulation and technology in the decision to merge. The credit union was founded in 1957.
“The members are very excited to have more products available to them, as well as greatly expanded services and branch options,” said Dan Stoltz, SPIRE president/CEO. “This partnership brings countless opportunities to their members. We’re delighted to support the livelihood of our industry.”
The $794-million SPIRE CU has 85,000 members.
