WASHINGTON–The National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Education (DE) program has named its newest awards recipients.
The winners are:
- Individual Achievement Award, Kathy Chartier, president/CEO at Members Credit Union in Cos Cob, Conn., who was recognized for her “work to build bridges across the globe and in her own home town.”
- Cooperative Spirit Award, to Credit Unions Care – a program spearheaded by Karen Hart with an “engaged partnership” with the Cornerstone League, Cornerstone Foundation and several local credit unions throughout Texas.
- Lifetime Achievement Award, to Larry Blanchard, formerly of CUNA Mutual, who has “touched so many DE lives it is impossible to fully capture,” according to the DE program. Blanchard chaired the Credit Union Campaign for Consumer Choice which spearheaded HR 1151 in Congress in the last 1990s.
