ATLANTA—A sign that car sales are indeed picking back up again as stay-at-home orders are lifted, auto dealers across the nation are increasing their advertising spending.
As CUToday.info reported, new car sales took a nosedive as the pandemic took hold of the U.S. And, analysts now predict new car sales will end the year between 12.5 million and 13 million units, well off the 17-million unit pace set in recent years.
As CUToday.info has additionally reported, new car sales have been rising in areas of the country in which stay-at-home orders were first lifted—and first initiated—demonstrating there is pent-up consumer demand.
“Over the last few weeks, many dealers have ratcheted back up their advertising on new, used, certified, and service business offerings,” stated PureCars.
According to data from PureCars, ad spending from June 8 - June 14 is up over the previous week:
- Google video (YouTube) ads: up 20.6%
- Google search: Up 8.1%
- Bing ads: Up 2.3%
