They’re Back (Sort Of): More CU Assns Announce In-Person Events

BOISE, Idaho–Physical meetings in credit unions are making a return, with organizations from coast to coast announcing they will host a number of traditional in-person events later this year.

The Northwest Credit Union Association said it will hold its annual MAXX convention Oct. 5-7 in Boise, Idaho at the Boise Center.

“This in-person regional gathering of credit unions will be a much-anticipated reunion,” wrote NWCUA President Troy Stang.

Stang said the event will include its annual Strategic Link Trade Show as well as the MAXX Awards Dinner and Gala.

Meanwhile, the Cooperative Credit Union Association, which represents credit unions in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Delaware, said it will partner with the Credit Union League of Connecticut to host APEX 2021 on Oct. 13th -14th at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville, Conn.

“We are excited to be returning to in-person events,” said Ron McLean, president/CEO CCUA. “And we are thrilled to collaborate with our neighbors in Connecticut for APEX 2021. The opportunity to connect, network and learn from one another is a tremendous opportunity for our credit unions.”

Added Bruce Adams, president/CEO of the Credit Union League of Connecticut, “The very nature of the cooperative business model is businesses working together to bring about a greater good. That is why we are so pleased to be working with our friends from the Cooperative Credit Union Association to share the message of the credit union difference across five different states. Working as a team only makes us stronger as a region and creates more value for our members. As cooperatives, that is the true definition of success.”
