DES MOINES, Iowa–Shazia Manus, CEO of The Members Group, will discuss the untapped potential of women around the world at the Iowa International Center’s Dialogue Series event on Nov. 3.
Manus, a member of the World Council of Credit Unions’ Global Women’s Leadership Network, will share perspectives on practical financial approaches for giving more female leaders the support they need and deserve, TMG said.
It’s an issue with which Manus has firsthand experience, having come of age in Bangladesh during a time when cultural and familial pressures kept most women from pursuing their ambitions.
Earlier this year, Manus wrote a white paper on the topic alongside co-author Calyn Ostrowski, worldwide foundation executive director with the World Council of Credit Unions. That paper, “Financial Support Critical to Greater Female Leadership,” can be accessed at themembersgroup.com/women.
