At the May open meeting, the board unanimously approved two items:
- A notice of proposed rulemaking seeking comment on the agency’s proposal to provide federal credit unions with additional options for payday alternative loans
- A final rule clarifying agency procedures for resolving severance claims arising from involuntary liquidations
Also during the meeting, NCUA’s CFO, Rendell Jones, briefed the board on the performance of the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, which posted net income of $33.1 million in the first quarter, primarily due to the strong investment income earnings.
NCUA reminded the Board Actions page of its website has more information, including Board agendas, which are posted at least one week in advance of each open meeting; copies of Board Action Bulletins, which summarize the meetings; copies of Board memorandums and other documents.
