NEW YORK—Policymakers may need to intervene to reduce the fintech gender gap, according to a new paper from the Bank of International Settlements.
The paper surveyed 27,000 people from 28 different economies on their access and use of fintech financial products or services.
Their results show that while 29% of men use fintech products and services, only 21% of women do. This gap is present in every country within the sample, the authors said.
