SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—And the entrants into the mobile wallet war just keep coming.
Joining the ranks of Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay—and others—is Citi Pay, a new mobile wallet for Android phone users from Citibank.
According to Fortune, the concept is similar to Android Pay, Google's mobile payments service, in that consumers load Citibank credit card and debit card information onto an Android app. Shoppers can then use that app to make in-store purchases at any merchant equipped with tap-and-go NFC.
U.S. consumers won’t see Citi Pay until early 2017, but the mobile wallet will roll out later this year to customers in Singapore, Australia, and Mexico, Fortune reported.
