AMARILLO, Texas–Education Credit Union has named an interim president and CEO following the departure of Eric Jenkins.
As CUToday.info reported here, Jenkins has been named president and CEO of the $1.66-billion SRP FCU in North Augusta, S.C.
Filling the interim role is Marcus Smith, who had been serving as chief financial officer.
“We are fortunate to have a tight-knit organization and leadership team, which has allowed the credit union to grow over $104 million in assets under Eric Jenkins’ direction,” said Chairman Daniel Coward. “And while we are all a bit saddened about the news of Eric’s departure, we are thrilled this move will take him closer to family. On behalf of the entire organization, we thank him for his leadership, and we wish him the very best in his next chapter.”
Smith has served since 2014 as CFO of ECU, which has $400 million in assets and 32,000 members.
“Change is often hard, but it is inevitable, and we are losing part of our team,” said Smith. “We wish Eric the best in his future endeavors.”
