AUSTIN, Texas–Credit Union Department Commissioner John Kolhoff has announced his resignation, effective July 15. The Credit Union Commission has launched a search replacement.
In a statement, the Cornerstone Credit Union League said that during Kolhoff’s tenure, its staff and Texas’ state credit unions “enjoyed working with him, quickly learning to appreciate his depth of experience and guidance. He will be sorely missed.”
Kolhoff was named Texas CU commissioner in 2018, succeeding Harold Feeney. He had previously served as special deputy director with the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS), which he joined in 1994.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed Texas Trust Credit Union CEO Jim Minge to serve as the chairman of the Texas Credit Union Commission. Additionally, Sherri Merket will continue to serve as the vice chair.
