WASHINGTON—Teresa Freeborn, president of Xceed Financial FCU in El Segundo, Calif., has been elected by acclamation as the District 6, Class B CUNA board of directors representative.
District 6 is comprised of the following: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, American Samoa, Guam, Johnston Atoll, Midway Atoll, Northern Mariana Islands, Palmyra Atoll and Wake Atoll. Class B credit unions are those having at least 38,000 but not more than 141,000 natural person members, as of June 30, 2017.
A vacancy in this position occurred earlier this year when the sitting board member ceased to be employed by a District 6, Class B credit union. On March 22, the CUNA board voted to proceed with a special election to fill that position, and eligible credit unions were notified on March 26, CUNA said.
CUNA said that Freeborn will begin her service on the board immediately. Her term will expire at the adjournment of CUNA’s Annual General Meeting in 2020.
