COLUMBUS, Ohio–Telhio Credit Union has unveiled a new mobile app called “Tap by Telhio” it said is designed to help members with everyday expenses.
The app is connected to a new checking account program that has two options for checking accounts and which offer access to roadside assistance, cell phone protection coverage, health and hotel savings, and discounts at retailers to save members money on shopping.
According to Telhio, when a member opens one of the new accounts they are offered a code to access the discounts via Tap. In addition to the discount app, one of the new accounts offers interest for checking accounts with higher balances.
The credit union did not release details around how the accounts are priced.
“These value-added checking services were created to help people live an easier life, and bundle some of the small expenses that add up for them on a monthly basis,” said Leslie Bumgarner, CEO of Telhio Credit Union. “With the roadside assistance coverage alone, members with the app can save on annual membership fees for services like these. We want to give our members and Ohio the best financial options possible.”
