SAN DIEGO–The two college teams that will compete in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl have been named.
The BYU Cougars (8-4) will play the Wyoming Cowobys (8-5) on Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. PT at Qualcomm Stadium in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN. It is the only college football bowl game that is sponsored by a credit union.
Wyoming won the Mountainwest Conference’s Mountain Division before losing in the conference title game 27-24 to San Diego State. The Cowboys had defeated the then No. 24 Aztecs 34-33 during the regular season, and also defeated No. 13 Boise State 30-28 earlier in the year. BYU won seven of its last eight games and is ranked No. 31 in ESPN’s Football Power Index of FBS teams.
