TTFCU Names New President/CEO to Succeed the Retiring Tim Lyons

TULSA, Okla.–TTCU Federal Credit Union has named a new president and CEO effective Oct. 1 to replace the retiring Tim Lyons, who has been with the credit union for 35 years, serving as CEO since 2011.

Shelby Beil

The $2.5-billion TTCU has selected Shelby Beil to lead the organization. Beil is currently TTCU’s EVP/CFO.

The credit union said Beil will be only the eighth president in the credit union’s history—it was chartered in 1934--and brings a “wealth of financial experience to the position.”

Prior to joining TTCU as CFO, he was controller at Oklahoma Central Credit Union from 2002 to 2007. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Beil also completed the CEO Institute program through the Credit Union Executives Society, where he earned the CEO certification.

“I have been incredibly blessed to have been a part of TTCU for the past 17 years,” said Beil in a statement. “I will continue to serve with a grateful, humble appreciation for the privilege of leading this remarkable organization. I will continue TTCU’s longstanding focus of taking care of our employees, giving back to our community and enriching the lives of our members through financial leadership.”

Active in Community

The credit union said Beil has also been active in the community, including:

  • Serving on the board of JDRF Oklahoma from 2007 to 2021, including two tenures as chapter president, winning the Star of Hope award in 2019.
  • Serving on the Signature Symphony at TCC Advisory Board since 2019, where he is currently the board chair.
  • Serving on the Philbrook Museum Board of Trustees, the Board of Trustees for the Tulsa Public Facilities Authority and as a member of Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board.

TTCU has approximately 155,000 members.
