TLC Community Names New President & CEO to Succeed Retiring Randy Smith

ADRIAN, Mich.–TLC Community Credit Union has named a new president and CEO, effective March 4, 2023.

Jeff Brehmer

The $689-million credit union said it has selected Jeff Brehmer to lead the organization and succeed Randy Smith, who is retiring after 23 years of leading the credit union as CEO.

According to the Michigan league, Smith started his career in the loan department in 1980. He has worked in most areas of the credit union, taking over for TLC’s first CEO, Wayne Zettel, in January 2000, the MCUL added.

“We thank Randy for his 43 years of service and his many contributions,” said Chairman Mark Spohr in a statement. “His leadership has been a positive impact for our members and the community. During his tenure, he worked to provide financial services at fair market prices, while providing the best possible member service.”
Brehmer’s relationship with TLC Community began in 2015 when he volunteered to serve as a member of TLC’s supervisory committee and then as a board member/treasurer. In 2018 he was named VP-administration and most recently served as EVP.

‘Exceptional Understanding’

“Jeff has an exceptional understanding of credit union operations, finance, and administrative roles,” said Smith. “He is passionate about the mission and vision of TLC Community Credit Union and will continue to provide members with great financial services along with strong community involvement and support.”

TLC Community has more than 54,000 members.
