HOUSTON — Texas Dow Employees Credit Union’s branch on the University of Houston campus was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, marking the second reported robbery at the location since October, Click2Houston reported.
The University of Houston issued a campus alert stating that the TDECU branch inside Student Center South, at 4455 University Drive, was robbed around 4:08 p.m. by a man armed with a black handgun.
According to Click2Houston, the suspect entered the credit union, brandished the weapon, and demanded money before fleeing south toward the METRO platform at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Wheeler Avenue.
Police described the suspect as a Black male about six feet tall with a slender build, weighing approximately 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a black scarf covering his head, a black shirt, black pants, and gray sports sandals, and was carrying a black backpack with gray stripes.
No injuries were reported.
The same TDECU branch was also robbed on Oct. 28, 2025, in a case the FBI later referred to as the work of the “Cougar Campus Crook,” according to Click2Houston.
