SEAFORD, Del.—Members of Sussex County FCU who use multiple CU services recently found an extra $100 in their checking account as a bonus for their loyalty.
That’s how the $253-million credit union handled its patronage dividend for 2014, delivering the $100 giveback across the board to those members who used several services, including checking, loans and investments.
Sussex County FCU CEO Pamela Fleuette said the giveback separates the credit union from competitors.
“This is just one of the many ways that our credit union stands out from other financial institutions,” the CEO told the Cape Gazette. “The more member-owners who utilize our full menu of services, the more value and benefits we can return to the membership; that’s the cooperative spirit in action.”
SCFCU can afford the giveback after turning at least five consecutive years of $2-million-plus annual profits. The CU’s capital stands at nearly 12%.
