MEMPHIS, Tenn.—A man has been arrested for allegedly robbing the same credit union branch twice.
Memphis police have arrested Sherman Weakley, who is accused of robbing a First South Financial Credit Union office on South Highland Street in October and again in November, Action News 5 reported.
Police say the 22-year-old Weakley entered the credit union in October, pointed a gun at a teller, and demanded money from the drawer. He was given an undisclosed amount the money and fled, Action News 5 said.
Police said he returned to the same credit union office on Nov. 1, and again pointed a weapon at a teller and demanded money.
The teller handed him an undisclosed amount of money and placed a tracking device in the bag, Action News 5 explained.
Police were able to use the tracking device to identify Weakley as the suspect.
After a warrant was issued for his arrest, officers located him on Chadwick Circle. After a chase, he was taken into custody, Action News 5 said.
