WASHINGTON—A new study from the American Bankers Association reveals that more than 50% of U.S. consumers have used a mobile device to check or manage their bank account at least once a month.
And further indication that mobile banking usage is rapidly rising, the study shows that more than one-third check their bank account by a mobile device more than three times per month.
Fifty-eight percent of survey respondents said they used a mobile device to access and manage their bank accounts once a month. Thirty percent said they never use a mobile device to check their bank account.
The majority of consumers like their financial institution’s mobile app, with about 75% rating it excellent or very good—33% said excellent, 39% said very good, 22% said good, 5% said fair and only 1% termed their banking app poor.
