SAN FRANCISCO—Hacker attacks on hotel chains are not slowing.
Another hotel, Kimpton Hotels, has acknowledged that 60 of its properties, including restaurants, have been hit by a malware attack on payment terminals, Krebs on Security reported.
The hotel said that credit/debit cards of guests who visited the properties in the first half of 2016—Feb. 16 through July 17—may have been compromised.
The list of hotels being impacted by cyber thieves is lengthening, including Trump Hotels, Hilton, White Lodging, Starwood, Hyatt and Mandarin Oriental. And, as CUToday.info reported, Millennium Hotels & Resorts North America and Noble House Hotels and Resorts announced last week they suffered attacks.
As is suspected at Kimpton, malware on POS terminals was the root of the breaches in virtually all of the hacks, Krebs noted
